J.D. Irving, Limited NB Leadership Scholarship at UNB
Overview
What started with a $1 million gift in 2007 has become one of the university's most prestigious awards.
Five New Brunswick students receive $10,000 a year, renewable for up to four years for a total value of $40,000 to study business, computer science, engineering or forestry at the University of New Brunswick.
The goal has always been simple: keep talented New Brunswickers in New Brunswick, studying fields that lead to careers here.
Recipients of this scholarship may also be offered employment opportunities with J.D. Irving, Limited throughout their degree program and/or upon graduation.
By allowing New Brunswick students to study and work at home, the Scholarship fosters the development of tomorrow's local leaders.
Over 1,000 UNB alumni now work at JDI.
How to apply
The J.D. Irving, Limited NB Leadership Scholarship at UNB is awarded to New Brunswick residents who are beginning an undergraduate degree program at UNB in Fredericton or Saint John.
Selection is made based on leadership ability, academic achievement and community/extra-curricular activities. Consideration may be given to financial need.
A shortlist of candidates will be interviewed by representatives of UNB and J.D. Irving, Limited.
